5. They Build “castle-in-the-clouds” Relationships
Dreamscapers are people who build an ideal relationship, well, in their mind at least. This fairytale world they created may make you think that it was not only a real relationship but also a fantastic one.
The fantasy they create is great, but there’s nothing to back it up. When the fairy tale relationship faces reality and breaks down, you are not prepared.
However, they leave it as usual and move on to the next fairy tale.
4. They Have A Commitment Phobia But Hardly Realize It Themselves
These people are afraid of any commitment deep down, but they never confess it. They want all the good things that come with a relationship and are not intended to cause any harm, unlike toxic or abusive partners, for example.
They just see that they have become attached to you and depend on the relationship, which scares them. Some studies say that they prefer to end commitments due to previous rejection by their parents.
Other researchers have found that dreamscapers disappear from relationships because they believe in fate – they believe the relationship is going to happen or not and they don’t even consider it requires patience and work.
3. They Don’t Actually Lead You On Or Intentionally Cheat On You
Being a dreamer does not mean being unfaithful. When someone cheats on you, they realize that they don’t feel anything for you, but are only intentionally using it for their own purposes, such as comfort, attention, or your unconventional love that increases your self-esteem. Dreamscapers are different.
They are simply surrealists. They create the ideal setting for dating, saying, and doing really good things, and they both believe in the same thing: their bond is magical and full of truly romantic things.
But the difference between you and your dream landscape partner is that when the relationship goes from a “cold belly” stage to a more pragmatic one, such as sharing daily tasks or assuming responsibilities, you treat it as such, but a dreamscaper will see it as their own personal disaster.
2. You Can Never Predict When They’ll Withdraw From Your Life
Dreamscapers exhibit so-called “ghosting” behavior at its best. They just walk away from your relationships and you can never be ready for it.
The day before, you could have spent a beautiful night together and today, you see them leave without any explanation, and they disappear from the face of the earth.
There is no drama, no hysteria, and they do not answer the questions asked. And for you, it can be hard to guess that the reason may be simple: You mentioned something “unromantic” like paying a utility bill in your conversation, and that was like pouring a bucket of cold water on your partner’s head.
